280SL engine swap. The engine in my 280SL is in rough shape-total rebuild candidate. I have a very low mileage 420SEL motor and transmission-does anyone know if that is a viable engine swap. Also does anyone know reputable repair shops the Northeast that would be capable of doing this. Thanks.

So far I’ve been able to figure out motor mounts and wiring without to many issues. Next issue I’m running into is transmission. Tunnel is 12” wide. A 4L60E is 14” wide so without major tunnel mods it won’t fit.
