Turn the key to on but do not start., Initial symptoms were : 1. went into limp mode a couple of times but cleared itself up. 2. went to limp mode ( runs up to 2000 rpm) and stayed there but there are no check engine codes. 3. Replaced the OPDA with new sensor - started up and ran fine then the next day went into limp mode. Like., A chain parts store, for example, can plug in a code reader and check for codes at no charge. "Limp home mode" technically has to do with an auto trans. JK. The problem could be as simple as the computer not recognizing the pedal input. By shutting it down and re-starting it was most likely re-booted and everything returned to normal.
