About Fort Hood: Fort Hood is a military base that is located just outside of Killeen, TX, about halfway between Austin and Waco. Home to over 55 000 staff, Ft. Hood is one of the largest bases in the world. The base covers around 340 square miles and is home to III Corps and The First Cavalry Division, as well as many tenant units.

One of the biggest complaints I hear is the surrounding areas. I'm at Fort Hood, but we have Killeen, San Antonio, Austin, Waco, and a whole bunch other places to visit and enjoy yourself.
