You shut them down on gas to clean the spark plugs so they are easier to start the next time and after it is shut off you should put the lever back into the diesel position to close the starting valves this is suppose to help keep the head from cracking. so I have been told by a few old timers.

Most of the parts we got from the local CaseIH dealer were correct and fit the pump but there are 3-4 gaskets which mismatch/aren't there. Member. Apr 19, 2013. #1. To do this properly, you need some dyno time. You can tune it by ear on the dyno. I like to do it at about 500 pto RPM. If you don't have a dyno, set it to about 25-27 with a timing light if its stock. Maybe 22-23 if you have higher compression.
