Coolbot heater light flashing

My first Chrysler vehicle. I just noticed this morning that on a cold start ( -20C ) as soon as I press the unlock button on the remote the rear defrost light start to flash and all the heat and blower controls are locked out. I can hear some of the blend doors moving and after a minute or two everything works and the light goes out.

I have a 2007 (57) leon FR 2.0 TDI which i have owned for about 3 month. I have been loving the car until about 2 weeks ago when the glow plug light started flashing and i lost power.
