Absolutely not. Huge maintenance and not justifiable for DPS, even elite void with a crystal bow is better except for defensively which rarely factors. It might be worth it for some really niche uses with no upkeep cost, but with the shard requirements per hour its just useless IMO. 1.Ahrims is basically best mage armour until you can afford ancestral. Karils is good for range if you need mage defense, or blessed dhide for range with slightly better melee defense. For most situation, blessed dhide is good enough and cheaper. And yes, that is where the BowFa sits, which is why so many people burn out doing CG for it. Because most people would rather do 100-200 hours of CG then 500-1000 hours of CoX., Bowfa and crystal armour is really good If you are lower level, it might be worth it just to get blowpipe first and get your stats up/maybe do some chambers in hopes of rigour/augury. I did my bowfa grind without rigour, but I had augury and used the staff mostly. Once I had the mechanics down well I started to use the Halberd more though, Shard cost is extremely reasonable unless you get spooned on the enh. Going on rate (400kc) for enh gives 2800 crystal shards. 2k to corrupt bowfa and 300 to make all 3 armor pieces, each armor piece can hold up to 20k charges, which is an additional 175 shards per piece, with the remaining 500 shards you can put 166 shards into each armor piece which is 19.1k charges.
